Back to it!!!

A new tour, and a new attempt at trying to keep this blog alive.

Me and Jim drove from El Paso to Austin on Sunday all by our lonesome since the guys were all in Austin already. Got into town and found Gabes house and some food. Tired and a little road weary, we still managed to go out and mingle at a bar called “Barflys”. Super cool place. Gracias to Keith and Eric for a fun night. Came back to the house and crashed hard.

Woke up and got going! Not a long drive today but some things had to get done before we left. I slept most of the bumpy way and opened my eyes to the skyline of Dallas. Haven’t played this place in years and I was looking forward to see Deep Ellum again. That was until I got there. The place is almost a ghost town compared to how it was when last I saw it. A lot of places have closed down and things just don’t seem to be going good in the once thriving entertainment district. Things change.

We got to the place and loaded in after we found some food. Ate at the Cosmic Cafe. Pretty good grub that leans toward the Vegetarian and Vegan side. The Somosas are awesome.

Met the Lucero guys and the other band that we will be playing with that are called Glossary. The placed got packed quickly and the crowd seemed really into all the bands, especially Lucero. Lots of singing along and cell phone talking while the bands played. Awesome show and super sweaty. This desert rat is not use to the humidity yet!

It’s good to be playing with the guys again! it feels like we never got off tour.

Stayed at Gabes brothers’ house where they made us feel right at home with super hospitality. Thanks all around to the Gonzalez family and cat.

Got on the road again and started the drive to Houston for the show at the Mink. On the drive we saw the biggest statue of Sam Houston erected right off the 45. Keep an eye out for it if your are ever in the area. I was driving so I don’t have a pic. Sorry!

After stopping at guitar center we drove to the venue and waited for the guys from Buxton to show up. We played with them in Abilene on the first Texas tour and they helped Jim book a show here in their hometown. Super good peeps and I really dig their music. We’re also playing with two other locals and The JonBenet. I can’t remember the name of the other locals but i will find out. The show was great and I had a great time. Long wait, but well worth it. After the show we drove right out of town and headed toward Austin. Many miles later we arrive and now i am typing on this here puter after a shower and some coffee. The second show for us with Lucero is at Emo’s tonight.

Forgot my camera’s patch cable so no pics today. Pendacitis!
